Recent homes have a DCL box (lighting connection device) which facilitates electrical work. Installed in the ceiling, this box has a socket, but also a suspension hook. First, place the DCL box in its compartment so you can mark the location of the threaded rod. Next, remove the casing, then drill a hole the same diameter as the rod. Once the threaded rod is fixed to the ceiling, reinstall the DCL box and drill the cover to pass the electrical cables. If installing the fixture in a solid ceiling, use a hole saw to drill out the junction box compartment.
Make the connections
Start by stripping the wires of the ceiling light cable by 8 to 10 mm. Screw the luminaire cable to the domino provided and hang it on the hook of the DCL box. Connect the cables from the ceiling light to the wires coming out of the ceiling and connect them to the domino. Adjust the length of the suspension cable to the desired height and refit the cable cover. All you have to do is test your connection.
